이 곡은 제목과 가사에서 알 수 있듯, 얼어버린 모든 것을 따스하게 녹이는 태양에 대한 찬가이다.1969년 겨울이 끝나고 봄이 오던 어느 날 에릭 클랩튼의 집에서 떠오르는 태양을 보고 그 자리에서 만든 곡이라 전해진다.
기타와 목소리가 인상적인데, 이 때문에 연주하기가 (비틀즈의 다른 곡보다)상대적으로 간단한지 상당히 많이 유투브에 올라온다.
수 년 후 조지 해리슨은 그의 싱글 앨범 '조지 해리슨'에서 Here Comes the Moon이라는 후속작을 내놓는다.
